• Question: Why do you love to freeze crystals for your experiments?

      I didn’t use to! When I was learning how to do it I used to find it very stressful! As protein crystals are very fragile, it’s really easy to break them when you are trying to freeze them! I think it is because I’ve helped so many people get structures of their proteins this way, and they make me think I’m good at it! As with a lot of things though it just takes practice, and it isn’t a good idea to try and do it if you’ve just had a cup of coffee!
