      I’m not sure it’s a question of “good” at maths. I think a lot of maths is the confidence to try new things out. I was good at maths at school and having trained in Chemistry and Theoretical Chemistry I have had a lot of exposure to a lot of techniques and ways of tackling mathematical problems. The underlying challenge over my career and in using maths has been to not give up when the answer seems impossible. It’s not impossible and you will get it!

    Numerical problems and maths was always my weakest subject and one that I have had to spend lots of time working on. I’d say that I’m ok at maths but sometimes I struggle with concepts. You really need to practice hard and not give up!
