Honestly yes and no. The thing about homework is that it allows you the oppertunity to practise something and you know what they say, practise makes perfect. This means that you can gain a full understanding of what your studying and it allows you to move on to more depth topics. However, I when I got homework at school, sometimes it just seemed so pointless. So it is up to the teacher to find the right balence and not give homework for the sake of it.
That’s an interesting question and I feel like it depends on how you learn. I learn much more from working actively and talking to people than I do by reading or answering questions, but some people are the other way round. I think there are some things you learn where lots of practice is important and I think with some subjects it can even inspire a bit of creativity!
You obviously have to do your homework because otherwise your teachers might get annoyed with you :P. But it might not be the best way for you to learn, and that you’ll figure out with time.
I think homework is important, it does help to cement ideas and concepts but like the others have said it may not be the best way for everyone. I think what is really important is to always ask questions, if you don’t know the answer to something don’t be afraid to ask your teacher or another student.
Homework is really important but it has to be given for a good reason. It is important to study and work on your learning by practicing and carrying out different exercises to make sure you understand how to put things into practice. If that involves some homework and it helps then I’m all for it.
I think it is important to be able to think at home what you have done at school and develop some thinking further and use your knowledge in practice – so you do not study for studying. Homework can be very annoying – I know and I think many types of homework could be done differently.
