The drug my enzyme makes naturally (norcoclaurine) is used to burn fat and it’s actually a substance which is banned for people doing professional sports. But we’re using the enzyme to make other things by getting it to react with non-natural, other molecules. Some of these can be used to make people breathe easier (if they have asthma) or they can be used to make people cough less.
